Ambient

This is kind of sf-noir story about a bodyguard with a fixation on the boss's floozy who gets involved in an inter-family feud that almost gets him killed. One can definitely see a "Sam Spade in Cyberpunk" here. If that's your boat, this will float it.

It's ostensibly about an unstable dystopia dominated by one massivee super-corporation, which is having it's own internal power struggles which for no particular reason involve a low level thug to help resolve the conundrum.

The story moves quickly and keeps up the pace, so it's an easy read, but once done, it feels like you've just finished some strangely colored cotton-candy and aren't sure what it was intended to be.
