The short stories in this collection are jaw-droppingly radiant. Each story starts out normal (a company trying to shut down their VR game, a dog on the loose, a woman with a strange illness, scientists debating what's 'natural') then Kim twists the knife, opening a full gambit of philosophical questions. All of the stories tackle themes of belonging, change, and the mysteries of the universe, yet, each do so in their own way. There is an emotional depth to the characters and worlds that most authors would kill to have. Kim does not give all the answers, allowing us to think about it long after you've finished reading.
