This is a gorgeously written book that everyone should read. Although very different in many ways, it reminded me of Annihilation in that it is lyrically written and uses science fiction/horror elements to explore and stand in for on more universal questions of grief, identity, and navigating relationships. One of the few books I've read this year that made me feel like I became a slightly better person for having read it. And, as they say, it's cheaper than therapy.
