A Gift of Magic

This was a nice young adult book. Chapters were told in the alternating perspective of three siblings, though one has more to learn than the other two. Recommended for kids, but maybe find the original.

Despite the title, this is more akin to a psychic power than "magic", and this short novel really isn't fantasy or sf. I thought the characters and environment were all well described. I say seek out the original because the late author apparently updated some aspects of the book, and those don't really ring true. As a product of it's time, it's a perfectly nice story.

This is apparently the first I've read of this author, who also delved into some thriller and horror apparently. Maybe I'll look for one around all hallow's eve.
