Unfortunately, once you decide to consider this a novel fantasy, WWE has does not allow you any option to call it a story of time travel. And there are few novels that are more intensely time travel narratives than this one, aside from perhaps "The Time Traveller's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger.
I am reminded of author Larry Niven's dicussion of science fiction and time travel, in his "Svetz" stories. The leader decides to send Svetz back into the past to retrieve a horse - but he comes back with a unicorn. The reason?... a time machine is a fantasy device, so what you get is a fantasy result.
