Bodies of Magic

I could have easily had another 100 pages of this. I ate this right up. Dark academia murder mystery fantasy is, of course, hitting all my high notes.

I did shy away at first when I realised it was very medically focused as that's not usually my bag, but the relationship between this group and the intrigue of the mystery very quickly swept me away into the depths of the body.

There is a certain magic to this book that reminds me of Tamora Pierce. I can't quite put my finger on it without rereading Pierce's entire catalog but this book took me to the same joyful place with more adult tones and I loved every minute.

Eager to read whatever Marske does next.
