Speaker for the Dead

I loved Ender's Game. Why did I hate this novel? I think it's because the morality tale that is a subtext in Ender is the overt point in Speaker. That and the fact that there was no bloodshed and carnage in Speaker (well, very little). I don't read SF for morality tales - I loved Ender's Game and In Death Ground (David Weber) & I hated Speaker for the Dead and Flowers for Algernon. When I want spiritual introspection I'll pick up The Shack.
