A spot of tea and we can have a chat about the properness of this book. Ms. Carriger has taken the ethos of vampires and werewolves and added a new twist, a person who can hunt these creatures because they are born without a soul. Instead of wood or silver we now have a person who can cancel out the effects of these creatures supernatural powers.

The characters felt real and Alexia Tarabotti depth and humor was well written. She was a heroine that you could defend no matter what situation. At times the story was a little to long in the tooth with the love scenes. Devoting a whole chapter to a petting session is a little much for a book of this type.

The action scenes were intense and brought you to the edge of your seat. The world created by Ms. Carriger is great and a different take on supernatural beings that did not hurt the legend or the already prescribed perimeters to their abilities.

The most to be said it that it left you waiting for the next adventure. Once you got into the book it was hard to put down. Cannot wait to see what rabbit holes Alexia Tarabotti can venture down in the next book.
