I received this novel free in a giveaway on worldswithoutend.com

A decent short story collection focusing on the themes of the undead and home improvements. Mostly okay, a couple I couldn't get into and a few great stories.

If I Had A Hammer - Charlaine Harris - I've never read any of the Sookie Stackhouse books and was bored quickly by True Blood. Kind of a boring story that didn't go anywhere. Maybe fans of the series will lap it up but it meant nothing to me.

Wizard Home Security - Victor Gischler - A really fun story about a wizard who gets burgled and invests in some home security. Put a real smile on my face. The author was / is writing a novel about the characters and the world which could be fun.

Gray - Patricia Briggs - My favourite story in the book by far. A vampire returns home to where she and her husband used to live. Nice central character, good plot and quite sad. Briggs gets a lot into a short space and it feels like there is a full novel here.

Squatters' Rights - Rochelle Krich - A bit of a take on The Shining with tons of religious Jewish customs and imagery thrown in. I suppose it makes a change from Catholicism exorcisms which are the norm in this sort of thing but it felt way to much.

Blood On The Wall - Heather Graham - Great story. A New Orleans detective, some dead bodies and a geeky Satanic cult leader - great fun.

The Mansion of Imperatives - James Grady - Another house possession and a little bit creepy.

The Strength Inside - Melissa Marr - loved the sinister finish to this story.

Woolsley's Kitchen Nightmare - E.E. Knight - Other than the predicatable end this was wicked fun, if you've seen Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare's you'll know what to expect. One of my favourites.

Through This House - Seanen McGuire - Not really a fan of other things I have read from McGuire but this story of opening up a fairy knowe was quite imaginitave - I think the characters appear elsewhere.

The Path - S.J. Rozan - Loved this. It's a story about growth and development. Really sweet and quite fun.

Rick The Brave - Stacia Kane - I'm not familiar with the characters or the series this story is set in. It was okay but nothing to get excited about.

Full Scale Demolition - Suzanne Macleod - Really enjoyed the start of the story but got lost towards the end. The characters appear elsewhere in her work.

It's All in the rendering - Simon R. Green - Fun story about resistance to building inspection - really liked this one.

The Brightest Day - Toni L.P. Kelner - story about raising the dead to finish a house build. It was okay.
