The Between

Started out okay but I lost interest when it got into the world of the black bourgoisie - a little too close to my Mom's world, one which she eschewed because of the color line and which I learned to dislike for my own reasons on top of that. Still, in spite of the fact that I really don't like horror novels, ghost stories, etcetera, this wasn't a bad read in terms of the writing and I found the main character's will to hold on to the world he wanted to be part of in the face of a lot of pressure to the contrary laudable and personally relevant.
