An entertaining novel with strong female characters. Romance was well contained. Four stars for the entertainment value, not for the literary merits.
I liked the world Young has constructed (references to the Wreckers and abandoned Wrecker civilization, gladiatorial contests, drugs). The way language starts to decline when people are illiterate was also a nice twist.
The actual story was very straight-forward and, towards the end, felt like reading a movie script. That's why I enjoyed the first half-two thirds of the book more than the end.
