The Haunting of Hill House

The Haunting of Hill House is to the horror genre what a perfectly baked sugar cookie is to baking. It tastes good, no one can really say that it's bad, it's the starting point for a lot of other recipes, but when you ask people what their favorite cookie is they will almost never say "sugar cookie".

I enjoyed the book (even with the sometimes annoying characters), but never felt compelled to keep listening (to the audiobook).
