This is one of my favourites of the Dark Tower series and also one of my favourite Stephen King books.

In this part of the tale we visit a village where a terrible act is being committed. We learn what has been happening and then most of the book is about the preparation and build-up to the next attack. I really enjoyed this. Also the battle when all the prep was put into action was gripping and thrilling to read.

All the main characters play there part and I really enjoy reading about them and their actions.

The only part I did not like about this book concerned the character of Father Callahan. I liked his involvement in the the general story and also very much so in the two books that follow this. But I did not enjoy the story whithin the story of parts of his past. Although on it's own I feel it would be intersting and enjoyable to read, I did not like it's inclusion in the fifth Dark Tower novel.

Fairly lengthy books at over 700 pages sos very similar to the fourth book. The continuation of a fabulous series.
