This was a really interesting little collection. The author has clearly done a lot of research into the legends of several Asian countries. Consequently, these folktales are very different from their saccharine-sweet Western fairytale counterparts.

This is a nice intro for those interested in expanding their understanding of the folklore traditions and sensibilities of Far Eastern cultures.
