The Pretender Book 1: Rebirth
I watched The Pretender on tv many years ago. I don't think I saw any of the first season and only saw an episode here and there, but I liked it. I recently bought the entire series on DVD but have yet to watch it. I thought I'd try the books, since it's more likely that I'd read something than watch it.
The book was a fun and quick read. There's definitely a sequel and one must read this novel first, as there is a lot of set up for the second one. It reads like a tv episode, finishing up one thread, but leaving another to continue in the next episode.
