I've been hearing about the Snow Queen for years, and was expecting great things from this book. It didn't quite live up to those expectations, but maybe that is more my fault for setting the bar too high, rather than at a more realistic level.
Certainly it is a good book. An interesting mix of SF, Fantasy and Fairytale. So don't listen to me, read it for yourself and decide.
