Parable of the Sower

A somewhat flat near-future SF of the world in 2025 collapsing from the effects of climate change. Vividly described , Butler is a master craftsman after all, but obviously the first half of a teo part novel rather than the first in a series. My opinion might change after reading the second novel but it seems, from the rather weak ending that the pair should have been published as one book.

The new age religion, (which, like Confucianism, is more a collection of precepts than a faith) is annoying. 3/5
