Reading this one I had my doubts it was really science fiction. Sure it has a near-future setting, but is that enough to class a book as science fiction? It seems more spy thriller. By the time I finished the book, I realised it really was science fiction. And very good science fiction at that.
It is set in a near future Europe, where everything is very recognisable, yet very different. The (mainly) Eastern Europe setting makes it seem quite exotic and different from the more normal western setting.
Why should you read it? Because it is well written, has cool dialogue, and because it has a really excellent reveal at the end of the book that you will not see coming and will leave you wanting more. I do hope a sequel is in the works.
