Man do the Germans know how to screw with a child's mind or what? My first experience was with The Neverending Story. Where children are taught that their lives could very well be a story some other being is reading. And now Inheart where children could accidentally(or purposely) read right into the story they are reading or worse, their nightmare could be read out of a book. Even as an adult, I was just a tad freaked out by the concept!
As for the novel itself, at over 500 pages, this novel is a tad bloated. It would have done well with a little more editing. But the story itself was intriguing and made me want to get to the end. Yes I had already seen the movie, so was aware of the basic plot, but still enjoyed this novel.
I'm giving this book 3.5 of 5 stars.
