I just finished reading Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov. I felt like I had read this novel before, even though I knew I never had. Than it struck me. I'm pretty sure that the movie "I, Robot" starring Will Smith was based not on the I, Robot novel which I read earlier this year and know it has no relation to the movie, but was instead based on this novel. It really makes no difference to me because they are both written by Asimov and were both good. If anything Caves of Steel was the better of the two books.
Once I started reading this novel, I could not stop. Yesterday I started reading it, and found I could not put the novel down. I started it a 9:30P and was going to read just for a ½ hour or so and then go to bed, but all of a sudden I looked at the clock and realized it was midnight and I was still hesitant to put the novel down. The story line was amazing. Mr. Asimov was able to engross me with his character and plot almost immediately. There is nothing I can fault about this novel. It felt relevant, and could have been written in the last 10 years. The characters were well developed and the storyline was completely immersive.
I absolutely am going to read the rest of this series. With each novel of Isaac Asimov's I read, I realize more and more why he is such a celebrated author.
