Seveneves - Neal Stephenson
The moon explodes and life on Earth is changed forever. The space station becomes a final refuge for a handful of humans. Politics, of course, get in the way of what is best for survival. This book is heavy on explanations of the technology behind why the inhabitants do what they do. (Loved it!) This is one of the best books of 2015 and should show up on a lot of awards lists.
