A Darker Shade of Magic

I loved the unexpectedness of this, the sense of never knowing where it was going to go next. The unpredictability of it resulted in a marvelous sense of tension and I was completely wrapped up in the story. Pure pleasure resulting in a fairly complete suspension of any critical powers -- an enviable state that I wish I was more frequently placed in!
