Great debut.

A very entertaining trip through a dark world where the last of the Greatcoats are desperately trying to keep the last rays of hope and of the old king's legacy alive.

There were occasional slow stretches in the middle as well as one or two episodes that didn't seem to fit. The magic was a bit jarring - either too much or too little of it.

Otherwise excellent. Believable characters, interesting story, one wants to see what happens next. Falcio's fate is heartbreaking.

Warning: A lot of violence including rape. Otherwise highly recommended, I've already started part two of the tetralogy.
