Very interesting.
A post-apocalyptic universe (nuclear war? zombies? monsters?) where people remember that there was a time before but don't understand it anymore. A story from the childhood memories of an old man who didn't understand what was going on at the time.
This setting leaves delightfully many open questions and plenty of room for follow up.
