Dreams of Distant Shores

When I got over my initial shock that McKillip writes about contemporary things, I enjoyed it a lot. I loved "The Gorgon in the Cupboard" and "Alien" and the first two thirds of "Something Rich and Strange", the stories where she talks mostly about people and their lives where the fantastic has a relatively minor part to play. She is such a good writer.
