I have seen a unicorn and its name is Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howley. I have just read a post-apocalyptic novel that did not have teen protagonists; all the important characters were in at least their late 20's (and most were in their 30's or older.), the story did not involve an underlying convoluted plot about a love triangle involving 2 men and the female protagonist, and there was an evil IT department that was not a running joke (I've always suspected they were evil, and this is the proof.)

I admit I am late to this game. This book has been sitting in my to-read pile for 4 years. Every time I thought about reading it, I just didn't. In all seriousness, this was a wonderful book. I really do not have any complaints about any aspects of the novel. The plot was wonderfully developed. The characters were fully formed and intriguing. The world building was amazing. While reading the story, I felt the claustrophobia that must have consumed the residents of the silo.

This is definitely one of the top ten books I have read this year. I feel sorry I did not read this book sooner.

5 of 5 enthusiastic stars.
