Jason, the main character from Deathworld 1, is kidnapped to be taken back to prison for his supposed crimes. The ship crashes on a planet where the population has degenerated to approximately the bronze age. He decides to use his advanced technological knowledge to advance the machinations of one of the warlords so that he can have the creature comforts he is used to. But he is rescued. All in all a fast paced and decent story.
