Red as Blood and White as Bone

I'm not a huge fan of Fantasy, but this Dark Fantasy tale really struck a chord with me. Some reviewers have complained about trying to figure out when the tale was set, but it is clearly set between WWI and WWII. Because it was written in a fairytale style, the actual time of the story makes little matter. I am looking forward to reading more from this author, if this is an example of her work.
