This is a collection of short stories that were written to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager. The Star Trek line should publish short fiction more often. Freed from the need to sustain a novel-length plot, the authors take advantage of the opportunity to focus on particular characters and their inner lives and their relationships with each other.

If a TV episode is a symphony, these are little tone poems that let you linger on details that the TV show didn't have the luxury of exploring in depth, or that tie up loose ends that the show didn't have the time or the inclination to pursue. I never thought I would care about Janeway's fiancé and how he dealt with the news that she was missing and presumed dead in the Delta Quadrant, but Keith R. A. DeCandido wrote a story about him that I couldn't put down. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this anthology.
