About Worlds Without End

Worlds Without End is a web site dedicated to bringing you the best Science Fiction & Fantasy literature. We've built an extensive database of the best books, authors and publishers using the top 10 awards in the field as our foundation. Our goal is to be the best resource around for SF/F novels. WWEnd is designed to help you find the books you crave.

The Responsible Parties

Worlds Without End is a labor of love for a bunch of guys who didn't know what they were getting into when they started. This site has gone through many revisions, in both concept and scope, over the last few years to get it to the state in which you find it. There are many more changes planned for the future as well. Below you can read a bit about our team members. Keep an eye out for us in the forums.

Administrator

Administrator (Dave Post)
Web Design & Graphics/Forum Administrator

Dave came up with the idea for Worlds Without End years ago as a way to keep track of the books he was reading. Many years passed and not much happened with the site cause "it all pretty much sucked." A few years ago he resurrected WWEnd and, against his better judgement, began to expand the scope and purpose of the site. Getting all his friends to join in the madness was (and still is) a bit like herding cats but the results have been very satisfying. Would he be happy to do it all over again? Well... no, not so much.

icowrich

icowrich (Rico Simpkins)
Blogging/Outreach/Advertising

Rico is a jack-of-all-trades who can find an angle to exploit in a round room. (He thinks, therefore he schemes.) If you like your SF/F with a heavy dose of philiosophy he's the guy to talk to. He's the techno-geek putting together our blog and reviews user submitted content. He's our chief forum moderator so go to him with problems... not to Dave.

whargoul

whargoul (Chris Wilhite)
Programming

Chris "C3" Wilhite is the guy who makes it all work at WWEnd. If he's done his job properly the glory belongs to him. If he hasn't, you'll know where to point the wagging finger of shame. He's one of those "bald by choice" kind of guys that you'd probably hide your children from but he's alright. A fan of SF/F television and film, Chris is relatively new to the world of SF/F books. Try not to hold that against him.

Tim (Tim Crishi)
Database Manager

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking - I highly suggest you try it.

matthew (Matthew Jones)
Technology Director

Matthew is a long-time fan of Science Fiction who's closet looks more like a used bookstore than he would care to admit. Matthew was attracted to Worlds Without End as a means to fill his ever-increasing borgish hungers for new content, and as these things go, decided to assimilate the position of Technology Director as well. He has been involved in content and community sites since the infancy of the Internet and firmly believes that content sites of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Internet.

jynnantonnyx (Jonathan McDonald)
Web Design & Graphics

Jonathan is a literary snob, but that hasn't managed to kill his love for genre fiction. He was roped into design work on WWE by blackmail threats of torture. He divides his time between working, reading, and writing movie reviews. If Jonathan hates a book, he will usually tell you all about it.

Senior Editor

Chis is a life-long SF/F geek who has somehow managed to aviod falling into the stereotypes associated with his level of geekiness. He can roll you up a 10th level chaotic-neutral dwarf thief, quote back all of Star Wars and sway you towards Picard over Kirk, if you let him, but he cleans up nice and plays well with others. Chris is onboard to direct and edit content for WWEnd. He's working on publisher histories, author bios and the other bits of content around the site and he's also heading up our efforts to get more author interviews and event coverage.

Über Üsers

We're always working to improve WWEnd but there's just too much for us guys to do alone. We've come to rely on our Über Üser volunteers who contribute their valuable time and help keep us honest.
