Biography
Waclaw M. Osadnik received a Master's from Jagiellonian University, Cracow, Poland, 1973, majoring in Slavonic Studies and minoring in Film and Art History. In 1981 he earned a Ph.D. summa cum laude in Applied Linguistics and Semiotics from the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
Osadnik is Professor of Polish Studies at the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. His research interests and publications address the history of Polish language, literature and culture, history and theory of translation, South Slavic linguistics, as well as Central and East European cinema.
