Biography
Kathryn Hume (born 1945) is an academic writer on fantasy fiction. Hume is Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of English at Penn State University.[2] She won the IAFA Distinguished Scholarship Award in 1988. She earned her A.B. at Harvard and her M.A. and Ph.D. at University of Pennsylvania. She particularly interested in narrative, fantasy, and mythological elements in contemporary fiction and has published on Burroughs, Coover, Gaiman, Pynchon, Reed, Rushdie, Vonnegut.
