Biography
Cat Hellisen is an author of fantasy for adults and children. A voracious reader, she is involved in archery and aikido, and keeps far too many pets. She lives in Cape Town, South Africa, and has also lived in Johannesburg, Knysna, and Nottingham.
She sold her first full-length novel, When the Sea is Rising Red in 2010. Her children's book Beastkeeper, a play on the old tale of Beauty and the Beast, was released February 3rd 2015.
Her short stories have appeared in Tor.com, Fantasy & Science Fiction, Apex Magazine, and Something Wicked, and in the anthologies Terra Incognita, and Jaberwocky 3.
