The British Fantasy Society Awards are administered annually by the British Fantasy Society and were first awarded in 1971. The best novel award is known as the August Derleth Award.

Selection Process
The shortlists for the awards are compiled from nominations submitted by members of the BFS. They are then voted on by BFS members only.
