I finished 'Tea with the Black Dragon' by R. A. MacAvoy today. It won, or was nominated for quite a lot of sci-fi and fantasy awards when it was published. It offered a lot of promise, but I was disappointed that it didn't lean into mythology and folklore as much as it could have done. It seemed quite light on the sci-fi and fantasy elements and more seemed like a computer crime caper. Not that there is anything wrong with that but wasn't really what I was looking for.
