It was a good month for finishing challenges, for me.

The Red: First Light - Linda Nagata - Enjoyable near-future mil-SF
- Second Best (currently Nebula, might switch to Campbell)
- Series A-Z (R - The Red)

Edge of Infinity - Jonathan Strahan (ed) - Decent anothology of solar-system shorts
- Short Fiction
- Somewhere Out There

Ghost Stories of an Antiquary - MR James - Classic collection of ghost stories.
- Short Fiction - COMPLETED

Authority - Jeff VanderMeer - Book 2 of the Southern Reach trilogy. I found it a bit of a struggle.
- New Books of 2014 - COMPLETED
- Series A-Z (S - Southern Reach)

The Enemy Stars - Poul Anderson - Short, fun, stranded in space novel.
- 1950s (1959) - COMPLETED
- Somewhere Out There
- Second Best (Hugo)

Half a War - Joe Abercrombie - Entertaining conclusion to the trilogy
- New Books of 2015

Zima Blue - Alastair Reynolds - Good collection of mostly space opera shorts
- Somewhere Out There

Angles of Attack - Marko Kloos - Third in his Frontlines series. Still fun, but the first was the best, so far.
- Somewhere Out There - COMPLETED
- New Books of 2015

Completed in June (bar a few reviews)
Short Fiction - 12/12
New Books of 2014 - 16/16
1950s - 10/10

Second Best - 8/12
Read More - 4/9
New 2015 - 4/6

Another slow month for me. Tolkien's Book of Lost Tales Part I was very slow reading, and Part II is even slower. I'm following along with the webinars at Mythgard Academy to help me understand them better. Both make "The Silmarillion" seem like light beach reading fare.

My full list for July is:
Book of Lost Tales, Part I - JRR Tolkien
Halting State - Charles Stross.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - JK Rowling
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - JK Rowling
Ready Player One - Ernest Cline Loved this one!

The challenge status is:
I Just Have to.... 6/12
Clear the Shelves 8/15
Read It Again, Sam 6/6 Done and the challenge is over!
Pick and Mix 27/40
Solar System 2/3
Tolkien 9/12
Unloved 9/12
12 in 12 7/9
YA 7/12
WoGF 4/12
LGBT 2/12
2nd Best 3/3 if The Martian doesn't win anything.

After Lost Tales 2, my pace should pick back up again until I get to The Lays of Beleriand...
