I'm closing in on my last 10 or so of the Hugo Winners and it is putting me in the mood to take a closer look at the history of SF. My tally of non-fiction SF books read is exactly -0- so I really should correct that.

Any recommendations?

Wow Jeremy, you are doing well with the Hugos! As for nonfiction, you could always start with browsing through the Hugo nonfiction awards,or Best Related Work as it is officially known. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_Award_for_Best_Related_Work.At least its a good jumping off point

Slowly but surely on the Hugos...thanks! And that's a good recommendation. I probably should have thought of that myself. Derp.

I enjoyed a title by Thomas Disch: The Dreams Our Stuff Is Made Of: How Science Fiction Conquered the World. It won one of those Hugos for best related book.

I also liked Disch's book. Consider also The Trillion Year Spree by Brian Aldiss, and Adam Roberts's The History of Science Fiction.

I've heard The Trillion Year Spree and Disch's sounds good too. Thanks, these are good recommendations!
