Biography
I have been an editor with On Spec Magazine and anthologies 'Tesseracts Fifteen: A Case of Quite Curious Tales' (Edge Books) and 'Divine Realms' (Ravenstone Press). I have had my short fiction published in a number of anthologies and magazines. My non-fiction primer on writing SF, 'The ABC's of How NOT to Write Speculative Fiction' has been featured here, in previous posts on this blog. My debut novel, 'The Tattooed Witch' (Five Rivers Publishing) was released in July, 2013 and was short-listed for a 2014 Aurora Award. The second book in the trilogy, 'The Tattooed Seer', was released in August, 2014, also through Five Rivers. I am currently finishing 'The Tattooed Queen' the third book in the series, which will be released this year. Common themes in the trilogy include tattoo magic, gypsies, flamenco, the Spanish Inquisition, and psychic abilities. All three books are historical fantasies (with paranormal and romantic leanings) set in an alternate medieval Spain during her colonial expansion into the New World.
