Biography
Tehani Croft Wessely was a founding member of Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine in 2001 and started FableCroft Publishing in 2010. Now firmly entrenched in Australian speculative fiction and independent press, she has edited numerous anthologies, has edited for Twelfth Planet Press (among other duties), has judged for the Aurealis Awards, CBCA Book of the Year and the WA Premier's Book Awards, reads far more in one genre than is healthy, and writes reviews, non-fiction and interviews.
In 2008, Croft Wessely was awarded the Ditmar for "Best New Talent". She also was part of a shared Tin Duck Award that year for a conversational review of the Twilight series (published on ASif!), and another for the launch of New Ceres Nights. In 2011, she won the Tin Duck for Best Fan Written Work, and in 2012 won (with Alexandra Pierce) the William Atheling Jr award for criticism and review. In 2014, she received the Aurealis Award for Best Anthology for One Small Step (tie) and The Bone Chime Song and Other Stories by Joanne Anderton received Best Collection the same year. Many other stories and works she has published have been shortlisted for multiple awards including Ditmars, Aurealis Awards, WSFA Small Press Awards, Tin Ducks, Chronos Awards, Australian Shadows Awards and Sir Julius Vogel Awards, and have been honorably mentioned and collected in multiple Year's Best and other reprint anthologies.
In her spare moments, Croft Wessely works as a secondary school Teacher Librarian.
