Biography
Darlene Artell Hartman, who writes under the pen name Simon Lang, has been writing since dirt was a day old. She wrote five scripts for (and was briefly on staff of) the original "Star Trek" series. Her script "Victory" won the Catholic Broadcasters' "Gabriel" award and introduced a young Jack Nicholson, and her PSAs for the State Department made the cover of Newsweek Magazine.
She has written screenplays (one of them is in development at present), teaching films, essays for college textbooks, Public Service Announcements, a writers' course, five novels, and hosts of short stories and articles for various publications. She has two novels and a non-fiction book presently in progress, developed a fail-safe story-creation system; has recently completed her first children's book, and is in the process of illustrating it. Hartman is also an occasional online columnist for www.CatholicMom.com, and keeps a busy speaking schedule at schools, colleges and universities. She does not do floors or windows.
