Biography
Born in 1984 in the Bohemian town of Policka, Sindelka attended Charles University in Prague, majoring in Cultural Studies, and the film academy, FAMU, where he studied screenwriting. He debuted as a writer with the poetry collection Strychnine and Other Poems in 2005, for which he was awarded the prestigious Jiri Orten Prize. He followed this with his first work of prose, the novel Aberrant (2008), His short story collection Stay with Us (2011) won the Magnesia Litera Prose Book of the Year Award. A regular contributor on literature to newspapers and magazines, Sindelka lives in Prague.
