Biography
That's me, over on the left, though my hair changes pretty regularly so the picture isn't a reliable indicator of how I'll look on the street or at a con.
I live in Boulder, Colorado along the front range of the Mountains of Madness, or maybe just the Flatirons. I'm a professional writer of literary horror and fantasy both long and short form. My first collection, A Pretty Mouth, was nominated for the Sydney J. Bounds and the Wonderland Book Award. Fancy! I'm also the author of Rumbullion and Other Liminal Libations, a collection of short stories with associated drinks, and the forthcoming Vermilion (Word Horde). Cameron McClure of the Donald Maass Literary Agency represents my work.
I'm also a Hong Kong cinema enthusiast, a former academic, and an avid hiker. I mix a mean cocktail. I'm training for a triathlon. When I'm not working, I'm typically practicing martial arts, watching movies of questionable quality, or in the kitchen cooking up some tasty vegan food.
