Biography
After spending most of his life putting it off, Bristol based author Tim Maughan finally started writing science fiction a few years ago. His first sale -- Havana Augmented -- was nominated for a BSFA award, and this year he released Paintwork, a collection of three cyberpunk-tinged stories dealing with the roles of art, celebrity and globalisation in a very near, and strangely familiar, future. At present his work deals with his obsession with architecture, augmented reality and video games, and next year he hopes to release his debut novel God's Switch that looks at the social impact of hacktivism, online protest and cyber-warfare.
Away from fiction he is one of the UK's best known writers on Japanese animation and comics, and is Tor.com's resident anime and manga blogger, as well as a contributor to Anime News Network and a frequent podcast guest.
