I have FINALLY finished The Shadow of Saganami. Fairly typical Weber fare except that this time he tries to do too damn much in one book. I know why it needs to happen, but there's got to be a better way to do this! The first half was like trying to cut through prose with a machete. The last half was an awesome action thriller. Worth it, ultimately, but only just this time. Hoping At All Costs will be better.

Oh, how i love a good Space Opera! i am reading mostly Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan series for this challenge. since i am reading the series in internal chronological order, i started with Falling Free (which takes place 200 years before MIles Vorkosigan is born) last year, read both Cordelia Vorkosigan books (Shards of Honor & Barrayar) & have quickly devoured the first two MIles Vorkosigan books (The Warrior's Apprentice & The Vor Game). This has quickly become a favorite series for me & plan on reading it in it's entirety by the end of the year.

Do you have the novellas too? "The Mountains of Mourning" is right where you are, I believe, and that's an amazing story. Don't forget "Ethan of Athos" either (kind of hard to find these days, but worth it).
