Comments
I'm on track with a few and behind on a few others. I still have expectations of completing all the challenges, though, except for Short Fiction. I changed my selections too many times on that one, plus I find that short story collections are a much slower read than novels.

Roadside Picnic - Arkady & Boris Strugatsky
Second Best (Campbell)
Masterworks (SF)

Challenges Completed: 2
New Challenges: 2

* I'm not sure I like counting Inverted World for the End of the World challenge. It kind of fits, but kind of doesn't, by my personal version of the rules. I might replace it.

Challenge status:
*WoGF: 12/12
*Book Ones: 12/12
Masterworks: 11/12
12 in 12: 11/12
Second Best: 10/12
Sequel: 9/12
End of the World: 10/12
*Elizabeth Noun: 3/3
Guardian: 6/7
Read More: 8/12
Fantasia: 11/12
*Pick&Mix: 12/12

Gemmell: 1/4
Reader's Choice: 0/5

No real duffers, and only 10 books to go according to my spreadsheet (not including the two new challenges). I'm delighted with this month's progress. I even managed four non-genre books.

I didn't think I'd get as much read because The Hallowed Hunt took me over a week. I'm also adding a few more challenges, because I've from the books I read, plus the books I will already be reading, I'm almost done with them. Plus I added the Read It Again Sam, because I've got 6 books I need to reread to finish writing reviews for my own personal Hugos challenge which I started two years ago.

The Challenges:

WoGF 11/12
Elizabeth Noun 2/3

The Number...3 7/9
2nd Best 10/12
Read it again Sam 0/6

I'll be adding:
End of the World 9/12
Creature Feature 4/6
Book of 1s 7/12

And at the last minute, I might add Authors of Color 4/12

Good job everyone!

Everyone is demonstrating a very productive August--not so much for me. School has started back, and I've had two family funerals to attend (and 2100 miles driven to them). I started one challenge book in early August and have not finished it yet. Here's hoping that Sept. is a calmer and more productive month for me.

Steve, Thanks for your kind words. I am certainly hoping for a normal month with only grading to complain about!

Oh dear, Rhonda, most sad. Condolences to you on your losses. May the rest of your year - both in general and in reading - be immensely better!

And to everyone else....well done on adding all those numbers to your challenges!

It's been pretty busy for me for a while now and I've just returned from a semi-disastrous RV vacation - still trying to get my feet under me.

It looks like my challenges are mostly on target (currently about 71% done overall), but I still have plenty of reading yet to do.

Rhonda, my condolences as well.
