it's a sad day for science fiction.  Legendary British science fiction writer Sir Arthur C Clarke has died in Sri Lanka at the age of 90.

i've only read Fountains of Paradise by Clarke (being content to watch 2001 and 2010 on the big screen) and  i really liked it.  i've got Rendezvous with Rama on my list as it seems there is a movie in the works:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0134933/.
