Starting off the New Year. Read 12 winners or go for broke with all 27 (or however many we end up with).

I'm going for "how many I end up with". I think I have about 15 planned. Thanks for setting it up! I'm excited about this challenge this year!

I am going to try to read all the Stoker winners this year. I have 20 left to read, plus the 2016 yet to be announced, but I only signed up for 12 because I always overdo these challenges and have a long standing guilt over not finishing them.

So I filled out my list - all 27 - but much of what I plan to read are novellas. I acquired this legendarily awesome anthology book, "The Super Hugos." It's supposed to be the best of the best Hugo winners. I think I believe it! The collection includes:

Sandkings by GRRM
The Bicentennial Man by Asimov
Enemy Mine by Barry B. Longyear
The Star by Arthur C. Clarke
The Big Front Yard by Simak
"Repent, Harlequin!" Said the Ticktockman by Harlan Ellison
The story that started Pern, Weyr Search by Anne McCaffrey
Neutron Star by Larry Niven
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Ellison
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

Interestingly, the novel of Flowers for Algernon is up for my SF Masterworks list this year so I'll be reading that as well. For that reason, and because I read the story before in high school (and because I didn't have room for all of them) I'll be counting the novel towards the challenge but not the story.

Finished this challenge - my first finish for the year. I only did the 12 because I have already finished all the books in three awards (Hugo, Nebula, Holdstock) so couldn't do the 27 unless I did some re-reads.

I read winners from the following awards:

BSFA: The Islanders
Locus SF: The Many-Coloured Land
Locus Fantasy: The Scar
Locus First Novel: The Memory Garden
World Fantasy: Osama
Mythopoeic: Tales From Rugosa Covern
Clarke: Chldren of Time
Campbell: Strange Bodies
Prometheus: Pirate Cinema
Red Tentacle: Angelmaker
Stoker: A Head Full of Ghosts
PKD: Countdown City

My favourite was probably Children of Time.

Congrats Weesam. I have the same problem of having read all of some of the awards. I'm hoping that some of the noms I'm reading turn into winners. If not I guess I can use them for the Second Best challenge.
