Hi Everyone,

I just noticed that Anathem has made it onto the Most Read list. Is there a way for us to tell what other books are getting close?

Thanks!

The number of reads to get on the list is mostly arbitrary. We needed a number high enough to keep the list length manageable. To see what books are getting close to the 450 threshold we'd have to change the threshold to 400 which would leave us still wondering what's getting close to making the list

I had been wondering the same thing. It might be a huge drain on the servers, but is it possible to see all the books in the database and sort it after how many have read the books?

It looks like Arthur C Clarke's Fountains of Paradise just made the Most Read list too.

We should start a betting pool. Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane is at 437 but on the other hand Salem's Lot by King is at 442. Anyone want to offer odds? : )

Their statistics on Goodreads is very similar. So going by those, there would be no real competition. But who knows? There are only a few horror books on this list.

Both Salem's Lot and The Ocean at the End of the Lane were skunked by Annhilation by Jeff VanderMeer, the newest addition to the most read list.

Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane has made it onto the list. Salem's Lot is still under 450. I would have thought Salem's Lot would have been on by now. It's a good thing I hadn't put any money down.

IT's on my list to read this year, and since it's now at 448 it will not be long.

I have now read Salem's lot, so will it make it as number 135 now that it only need one more read? Or will some other book beat it.

The list is reporting 450 reads but on the book page it's 449. The same goes for 6 of 7 books i have checked. Only Ember Spyglass has the same number.??

It might be due to rereads. I found that to add books that I have previously read to the reading challenges, I need to remove my read status. I also wonder if people who cancel their membership have their ratings and read status cancel as well.

Double Star by Heinlein has made it onto the most read list. I seem to always be surprised by what is read rather than what I thought would be popular. I would have thought World War Z or The Way of Kings would make their way on first. It's really great that the older classics are still being read.
