We have just launched a surprise new award: World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement

I say surprise because one of our Uber Users, illegible_scribble, in a fit of awesome, took it upon herself to do a little secret side project. She thought the Life Achievement Award would be a nice addition to the site and quietly started filling in the missing authors AND a bunch of books for each so we'd have a nice sampling of their works. She then presented us with a spreadsheet with the award details all ready for us to plug into the DB. See? Awesome.

She was quick to point out that she had just built on what other Ubers had already done getting all that data loaded and she's right. But that just means that she's awesome AND smart. And now we have a nice new list of great authors that we can use to find new authors and books to read. Well done, illegible_scribble, well done.

On a side note, we finally got around to fixing the World Horror Convention Grand Master Award while we were building the page for the Lifetime award and I'll tease here that we have another author award coming in the near future 'cause scribble is not the only awesome Uber in the house.
