Uber User Posts: 369 Location: Middle TN, USA | Ok I have a small dilemma. I finished The Girl With All The Gifts which met the Unloved criteria, but on April 8th it was nominated for 2015 Clarke. So should I take it off my unloved list and replace it?? I read tons of crap, so I'm sure I have another unloved out there somewhere in my reading lists.

I read tons of crap, so I'm sure I have another unloved out there somewhere in my reading lists. I had that problem last year with the Second Best Challenge. I replaced it. I've been holding off on putting some of the 2014 books on the Unloved Challenge until the award nominations are done.

Uber User Posts: 794 | I figured I'd have the same problem with the Martian but I guess it's not eligible for any (so far).

Uber User Posts: 369 Location: Middle TN, USA | I replaced it with Jack the Bodiless by Julian May. Written in 1992, there will not be any awards for this novel! LONG LIVE THE UNLOVED!!!!!

Uber User Posts: 770 Location: SC, USA | I had added Emma Bull's War of the Oaks for Second Best and then figured out today that it is ineligible because it won the Locus First Novel Award that was only recently added to WWE. rhonda

Veteran Posts: 144 Location: Fort Myers, Florida USA | I took all the genre books from my library wish list and put them on my WWEnd Reading List. 16 books. None of them are unloved. I haven't been paying any attention to whether or not a book fits any of my challenges. Looks like I'm going to have to make a an effort to find unlisted books so I can complete this challenge

Uber User Posts: 369 Location: Middle TN, USA | I finished (finally) The Unloved I loved for this challenge were as followed: Dust Land: Blood Red Road - Moira Young The Culled - Simon Spurrier The Death Cure - James Dashner Exit Kingdom - Alden Bell Hollow City - Ransom Riggs Infected - Scott Sigler Insurgent - Veronica Roth The Last Policeman - Ben Winters The Eternal Night - Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan Night Watch - Sergei Lukyanenko Partials - Dan Wells The Unscratchables - Cornelius Kane I really enjoyed this challenge because I read several far from "award winning" novels each year and at least here I can give them a little respect.
